At the recent CAMS Festival of Motorsport, held at the Quit Motorplex in Kwinana, CMT was joined by UWA and ECU to put on a demonstration FSAE-A competition.
Please see the results below
(note results reflect the point scoring system used in the FSAE-A competition)
The event was a good chance for the there teams to practice race day preparation and get in some good driver training. UWAM had a little inter team competitiveness happening with the 2010 team trying to out do the team from 2009 running the 2005 car and the 2009 car respectively.
ECU-R performed well in the autocross event but us at CMT had the good on them in the acceleration event on the day.
Considering we only got our car running at 5.00am the morning of the event(thanks to some help from UWA and plenty of hard work by a hand full of our more dedicated team members)we are reasonably pleased with the day.
There was a decent turn out of spectators given that it was on Valentines days and 37 degrees. We must make a note of our many thanks for CAMS inviting us to have a demonstration at the festival and we very much look forward to next years.
Team | Skid Pan | Acceleration (0-75m) | Autocross | Total |
UWAM 2010 team | 50 | 72.2 | 150 | 272.2 |
UWAM Germany team | 47.3 | 75 | 133.5 | 255.8 |
ECU-R | 27.8 | 44 | 135.8 | 207.6 |
CMT | 24.9 | 47.4 | 69.5 | 141.8 |
We were also lucky enough to have the kind bunch at Launch Helmet Cams lend us a camera for the day and we managed to get some pretty impressive footage.
The Launch Helmet Cams gang has some top quality gear and there site is definately worth a look. Keep an eye out for some of our videos to be uploaded soon.

ReplyDeleteWe tried Tim, we were up all night trying to get the car ready. The motor only started 3 hours before we got it on the track that morning.
ReplyDeleteTuning was all messed up on it that day and the shifter linkage broke so we only had 2nd gear.
